On March 18, the first runway show of the 2023 Xiamen International Fashion Week took place at Lu Chao·Gulangyu Art Academy. Masha Ma, the first young Chinese designer to be part of the official Paris Fashion Week schedule, presented her personal brand MASHAMA's FW23 collection, exploring "the beauty of Xiamen" alongside Xiamen International Fashion Week. The runway show, themed "Flowers and Adventures," combined the city's characteristics as a "garden on the sea" with cross-industry innovation to create a cutting-edge showcase of professional releases and avant-garde art, empowering fashion industry brands and designers and helping to build Xiamen's fashion culture brand.
Reportedly, Xiamen International Fashion Week is operated by C&D Xingguang Fashion and Cultural Creativity Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of C&D Group. From this year on, the frequency of the runway shows has been adjusted from once a year to twice a year (FW & SS), aligning with international practices. The event also plans to launch a series of urban fashion shows to effectively empower the development of the city's cultural tourism industry and commercial district economy.
